It always find its way to me

Every time I feel I needed to talk, it always find its way to me.

Today is a full moon day. Not just any full moon day. It's Makha Bucha day.
The day when 2500+ years ago, 1250 Arahans that Buddha himself ordained came to see him for Ovatpatimok, the core teachings of Buddhism.

I'm heading out to the temples myself.
Many things to be cleared off my head.

Did I tell you I made some Spaghetti with Salted Fish this morning?
It was the best dish in many months of cooking.
The secret is dried chili, fresh ground pepper, minimal seasoning.
Just let the Al dente spaghetti cook with butter and good fried salted fish.

I miss blogging

It's been months ever since I wrote my last blog.
I have been like most people online, using Facebook, twitter, checking emails and do absolutely nothing else. I hardly even go to any website. When I'm done checking updates and emails, I hardly know which site to go to nowadays. Is anyone experiencing the same??

So I miss writing. Writing lets me express myself freely not having to worry about the number of letters or whether someone will actually like or comment on it. Writing means I don't have to give a damn about my grammar, spelling or if it offends anyone. Writing means a freedom of expression. Freedom to think, write and keep track of the thoughts in words.

So what else have I been doing? As always, I've been writing more songs. I'm most excited about a new song that I have yet to officially name it. I call it Odaiba because that's where I wrote it. A little place in Tokyo where my vivid memories of freedom and happiness are kept a secret. I wish I buried a time capsule there. I wouldn't know what to put in it except the flowers and lyrics of the song that I wrote.

And then of course my mind is thinking about the other things too. My life, my job, my marriage, my new condo, my dog, my parents, my brother and my sister. I know it will never end. All I can do is take it one thing at a time and be happy with the decision I make and the actions I take.

That's about it for now. Oh, did I tell you I got an old bicycle that I love to ride whenever I got home? It just frees up my mind. When the cool wind hits my face, the crickets sing and the stars shine so brightly in the clear winter sky, I feel so small and know that there are just so much more in this time and place that we should never ever try to comprehend, except to let it be.

Yes, just let it be : )

Unexpected Surprise.

Walking in after having a pig stomach soup and parking on the street to Ten Sauna, the first thing I find as I enter the building is a wooden counter with two friendly ladies seeming a little busy but welcoming. "Sauna krub", I said and one of the receptionists offered me a mysterious box that looks like a deposit box at the banks. I put all my valuables in it and she gave me two keys number 27.

I then walked on to change my slippers and enter the lockers to find a matching locker number. A staff offered me pants and towel and kept my key. I entered the frosted glass door to find a huge open space in-door with a pool, sauna, steam room, shower room, drinks bar, gym and sitting area.

I started with a shower, wet my towel and entered the 90 degrees sauna for almost 10 mins before diving into a surprise ice-cold pool. The feeling was truly invigorating! I repeated the process 5 times and felt a total satisfaction for the mind and body!

The steam room was good, free ice water, fruits and desserts were offered. All this for 180 baht! What a pleasant surprise!

Although the place is not brand new or super clean, I'd still recommend it if you are looking for something out of ordinary.

I have been working on a new social network site for my company (TV3). Now it's fully launched. I'm mostly updating my status there but I want to keep this blog alive just in case there is anyone reading it. Hope all is well for the upcoming days in FEB 2010 'cause I have been too busy the past few days running around doing house work and routine tasks that limits my freedom and creativity. I am happiest as a free hippy who create and inspire, stir up and agitate, provoke and respond to people emotions and feelings through the beauty of arts and music.

I am proposing TV3, Family News, See San, Thai EcoTrade, Intel, Virgin Radio, Bangkok Post, Post Today, Central Group, Thai Post Office and Ministry of Education to gather donations for used computers; recycle working or non working computers and parts from all over the country.

Goal:
To collect at least 1 ton = 10,000 old computers and turn them into 1,000 new computers for 1,000 needy schools in Thailand

Timing:
1 November 2009 – 5 January 2010

Bring you old computer or computer parts, working or non-working to our donation box located at all Central Shopping Centers, Post offices, and participating government offices. We will collect them and recycle these materials and turn them into new computers.

Get:
Write a one-page essay describing why your school needs a computer, what you will be using it for and who will be maintaining it for the next two years and submit it to www.giveschool.com or fax it to 02-204-1384. We will select 1,000 schools to give away 1,000 computers with software and maintenance programs.

Say NO to Smart Phones

Smart phones are great but with great power comes great responsibilities.
Here are top seven reasons why you shouldn't get a smart phone.

1) Cost. Buying an Iphone or BB + 12 month usage fees lets you use your mobile phone free for the next four years (800b/month).

2) Privacy. Do you feel guilty not answering to a BB, Push Mail or Email when you know you have access to? What would be your excuse when people know you are always 'reachable'?

3) Safety. When you lose a smart phone, all your contacts and the convenient access to your 'personal information' are at risks.

4) Technology Addiction. Having the greatest and latest makes you feel on top of the game but it also make you be the first to run out to the store when the newer smart phones are out.

5) Diminish Social Skills. People with smart phones tend to communicate less in social settings because they are too busy updating their status in the digital world.

Don't waste your time on social interactive sites

Some of us spend too much time on social interactive sites (i.e. facebook, hi5, twitter, etc). Instead of talking to your friends, co-workers and family, we prefer to tease, joke, poke and respond to someone we hardly know living across the world. Spending time wisely and meaningfully with family members and people who really care about you (instead of those who always try to get into your pants) can make us all feel more wholesome and real.

We can't deny that the people we see or live with everyday can sometimes be boring but they are the ones who will visit you at a hospital when you get sick, go to your lame birthday party and try to help you pay the bill, or help you unconditionally when you are in trouble (DUIs included). Sorry I'm not here to teach anyone. In fact, I think I'm just reminding myself not to waste too much time chatting and building my online profile to impress people that I have a lot of cool friends and have been to so many countries.

It's true that these sites help you discover lost friends and keep in touch with your buddies but what is the point of all this when we can't even touch real people we come into contact everyday on a fundamental level. I have seen some people being converted to a social interactor that they can't communicate intuitively or naturally in person anymore. Don't let that be you. Don't be a prey of what the society think you should do to be pleased. That is not who you really are.

After all, don't we all deserve a nice warm hug from those boring people we live with everyday? So let's start trying because true love and care can only be earned not "EDITED". Thanks for reading.

(LifeWire) -- When George Dello of San Diego was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and told he had at best five months to live, he didn't immediately begin the chemotherapy treatments his doctor recommended. Instead, he and his wife, Pam, drove up the California coast and spent a week among the redwoods north of San Francisco.

Expert: Family and friends can help the terminally ill by spending time with them.

"These trees are 5 feet wide and 150 feet tall," said Dello, 43. "They still have another 150 feet to grow and are going to stick around for another 1,000 years. When I thought about that, I'm just a flea on the bark. It's unbelievable."

The trip offered Dello, who worked in the auto repossession business, and his wife a chance to come to terms with the diagnosis in August 2008, and to scratch the trip to the redwood forests off his life "to do" list while he was still relatively healthy.

He died four months later.

The idea that dying well is as important as living well gained cultural currency last year when Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University, delivered a final lecture a month after learning that his pancreatic cancer had spread and was inoperable. The lecture was viewed millions of times on the Internet and adapted into a best-selling book.

"We cannot change the cards we are dealt," Pausch, who died in July at age 47, told his audience, "just how we play the hand."

It was a dream come true. We were there for the scene on Friday. Spoke to DJ (TON) and approached the booth when P A and P Jeep were discussing whether or not it's a good idea for us to come the next day and play. Luckily, they said yes. We were so happy!

Saturday 8pm, I arrived at P John's place in Bow Road after getting lost for about 2 hours (I went to Borough). Sounds kinda similar, isn't it? We had some chicken and wine and practice two songs, called a cap and we were on our way to Addie's after our Indian driver raved us up pretty badly. My migrane started again.

The set up was a breeze tho we didn't get the sound we like until the 3rd song. The crowd was excellent! There were more people than we expected (thanks to Muay for your PR). After a few Coronas I felt very comfortable playing and I know it wasn't going to be over easily.

So we played and played and played. We did about four 45-min sets and at the end of the night I didn't know what I was singing anymore. I do remember doing "My name is Mark", my favorite Blue's number satiring our new prime minister who happens to be in London at the same time for the G20 summit (I always see him standing behind Obama when taking pictures to make sure he gets good publicity).

We left absolutely high from the joy of playing, interacting, immersing ourselves to the harmonious energy. I remember P A was so kind giving us money to take a cab home and P Jeep giving us a ride back to Baron's Court.

What an unforgettable experience.

I will surely be back.

Art Vacation at Morrison's Irish Pub in Cannes

This time I got to play for my friends again on Wednesday night, April 1st, 2009. It was after a soccer match so the bar was packed with people. I was totally drunk on my ass before I even started playing. I remember having some Red Murphy. I recall it was two, then three glasses, then I just lost count. E-AN at the bar told me "No more bloody James Blunt's song this time, Art". I thought that was funny. They hated the song You're Beautiful there. I know why. Because most of the customers are guys, the majority from Ireland, others from Europe and the US so the song is overplayed and the must be sick of it. Rob, the owner came to where I was smoking and said "It's time". I did Unappreciated, I used to, Don't look back in anger and then I lost my memory. At the end of the gig, some guy bought me two beers and I think I finished it with a single gulp. Oh this time, I have to thank the solo guitarist who played with me. Big thanks to my lovely supporters Brendan, Tim, Teck, Richard, Su, Mee+, Johanna. You guys really made my night. See you at MIPCOM in October. I will have some new songs to play next time.

I am back in Cannes again for the 8th market (I think). It's much slower this time and there are quite a number of empty booths resulting in more space for participants to sit, have meetings, use the internet machines and wander around. I have not seen much for the new programs that fit with my specific demand this time but it's good to catch up with friends and to see familiar faces in the business. We stay at 1835 which is a renovated Sofitel on the beach. It's very nice at 800 euros a night. So far I have had two Italian meals and two cups of instant noodles. Looking forward to the holographic 3d conference tonight from Endemol. That is it for my first day summary. Lyn and Yohanna let's meet up tonight at Morrison's.

What strike me this time is how stable I feel attending this event. I know exactly what I'm looking for and not wasting my time on what can't be done for my network. I stop thinking 'extras' and focusing on the 'wanted stuff'. It's the 3rd day today and I am already almost at a 100% coverage on the walk-thrus, deals and negotiations.

The seminars on this trip are especially useful. The notification of digital divide, integrity of branded entertainment, technology as a mean to the end are just some of the topics of our everyday conversation here. Content liberation on new platforms have enabled so many new creatives and creators to come on board the media scene, traditionally and non. It's inspiring to the old and new comers in this market.

More fun than acquisition is the idea of distribution and co-productions I have yet to explore on my own. The demand for new Asian content with the style and art direction me and my network of friends can offer is pushing me to fly out of this cage and test my new altitude.

Champagnes and Chardonnays later, I'm always finding myself nestled in the middle of some of the most influential people in this media world. These conversations and exchange of ideas strengthen me, mold me and allow me to discover my own path. They provide answers to my soul searching's purposes in life.

Components are assembled for A Large Ion Collider Experiment, a.k.a. ALICE, an experiment to measure the matter created in the extaordinarily high temperatures — estimated at 100,000 times hotter than the sun — that existed after the Big Bang and that will be created by the particle collider.

Massive Magnet
The central piece of the CMS detector weighs over 1900 tons. In this photo, taken in February of 2007, the central magnet is shown just after it was lowered into its place. According to CERN's website, this was a "challenging feat of engineering, as there are just 20 cm (8.6 inches) of leeway between the detector and the walls of the shaft."

Chips
A technician works on a layer of the CMS. More than 2000 scientists, from 37 countries, are collaborating in the experiments related to the CMS detector.

Data Center
During the experiments, CERN's computers will process 15 million gigabytes of data per year. To allow the thousands of scientists scattered around the globe to collaborate on the analysis of the data, tens of thousands of computers located around the world are being harnessed in a distributed computing network called the Grid.

The Magnet Core
Winding the solenoid coil of the CMS took five years to complete. When it is fully operational, it will generate a magnetic field 100,000 times stronger than the one produced by the Earth.

The Collider
Designed to recreate the conditions just after the Big Bang, the Large Hadron Collider, 27 kilometers (16.7 miles) long, is housed in a pipe-like structure 100 meters below ground. As part of the experiment, two beams of subatomic particles, called 'hadrons,' will travel in opposite directions inside the circular accelerator, gaining energy with every lap. Physicists will then let them collide head-on into each other and measure the results with the CMS and other instruments.

The Compact Muon Solenoid
Weighing over 12,500 tons, the CMS is one of two large general purpose detectors built on the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). During the experiments, scientists will use it to investigate a wide range of physics, including the search for the elusive Higgs boson, extra dimensions, and particles that could make up dark matter.

CERN - Twenty member states contribute to The European Organization for Nuclear Research, known by its French acronym, CERN, a vast laboratory located 100 meters (328 feet) beneath the surface of the French-Swiss border.

Founded in 1952, CERN has been the location of some of the world's most important scientific developments. Tim Berners-Lee, commonly regarded as the father of the Internet, successfully tested his idea for the world wide web here in 1990.

Ain't bloggin much

I admit i haven't been bloggin much. LA screenings took me away from my desk for about ten days and Bamblu has just been my new favorite thing. A month has passed and I can say that I learned more about restaurant/bar business than working as a restaurant employee for 8 years. It's very uphill and the stress level is at its peak. Got to meet some really cool dudes, cooked for some good friends and played music for some really unexpecting crowd. I'm about to dive into a new music project for a tv show. It's for environmental responsibility. You can surely take part in this with me. Just create less waste, recycle and try harder to make this world a better place, one small thing at a time. I'll post up some new songs for you to hear as soon as I get them down on a recording. Stay tuned.
BTW, I'm running a charity program at bamblu to collect cash donations for victims of earthquake in China. You can go there anytime to donate. I'll hand the cash to the Chinese Red Cross at the Chinese Embassy on June 30th. Join us and feel humane.

Four day weekend

It all started on Friday May 2nd, 2008 -- a date I'd remember for the rest of my life. A day when Bamblu starts to bloom into this magnificent place.
The staffs are great. The food and prices are coming together nicely.
The bands are unique and we now have some regular customers (hi som, nay and kim chi). The inventory is being done. The money is be accounted. The decoration are just a matter of changing things around. I'm sure we will have most things in place soon.

Hi. I'm back in France for the third time this week. Thank god i'm here at the wonderful hostel after the flight was delayed for hours. It's amazing that this hostel was once a monestary. We are drinking beers and playing games in the church and sleeping in where the nuns' quarter was. The service is excellent. We even got an airport pick up at one in the morning. I'm sitting down drinking here with people from all over the world sitting in front of 11 computers surfing the web. Gotta go for a smoke now. Last day tomorrow. Will do a little shopping and jet home. See you soon!

Hello friends. I am in Barcelona. It´s my third day here. Last night was such an amazing saturday. I was out partying at RZZ till 5 am. The place was packed with thousands of people dancing away to different dance music in all of five clubs. Today is a Sunday and all the shops are close. Most people just go to the beach or the sports stadium. Even the metro is empty. I really enjoy Spanish cooking. One more day tomorrow and I´m back to Nice again for another night before I fly home on Wednesday. Look forward to seeing you guys soon. Miss you all.

Hello, it's my third day in cannes for MIPTV08, the annual worldwide tv event that takes place in this beautiful city of southern france. i have a bit of jetlag still, don't know why. i usually don't get this when in my 15+ years of travelling. may be i just have too much on my mind with people i miss, tv, bamblu and baiyok.

the best thing about cannes is meeting old friends and new people from all over the world. this time i've made good contacts with people from ireland, india, uk, nyc, hungary, german, just to name a few. my new friends are not just from the tv realm. they are doing some of the most dramatic projects, advocating significant changes to how we live, work and learn.

from formats to branded entertainment, from software to education, from co-productions to financing, from interactive web applications to social communities, there is just so much to take in.

perhaps one could easily assume that the biggest return on all this is money. i thought so too until a group of irish men shed some light on me last night after we had our four kilkennys. being a true gentleman in every way of life, work and relationship is the ultimate goal of living. softness is strenght, arrogance is weakness.

Love trip 2 is another amazing journey. 20 People, 2 nights, 3 days, countless bottles of whisky and beer, 1 bamboo rafting trip, 1 disco rafting, Erawan falls, Sai Yok Noi Falls, Driving through the heaviest storm with so many people in the back of the truck, Getting lost in the mountains, Making U TURN on the scariest 2 way street, Driving through the restricted area on the very top of Srinakarin Dam, drinking with the local drunk, LT2 tatooing and unforgetable memories.

ถึงน้องหญิงที่รัก
พี่เขียนจดหมายฉบับนี้เพื่อบอกกล่าวเป็นครั้งสุดท้ายว่า คราวนี้พี่ลาขาด
พี่เป็นสามีที่ดีเสมอมาตลอดระยะเวลา 7 ปีแม้จะไม่มีหลักฐานเป็นลายลักษณ์อักษร
ในระยะสองสามอาทิตย์ที่ผ่านมาเป็นช่วงที่พี่รู้สึกแย่ที่สุด
ยิ่งเมื่อเจ้านายของน้องโทรมา บอกข่าวพี่ว่า น้องลาออกจากงานแล้ว ก็กลายเป็นฟางเส้นสุดท้ายสำหรับพี่ซะแล้ว
เมื่ออาทิตย์ก่อน น้องกลับมาจากที่ทำงานโดยไม่ได้แม้แต่จะสังเกตทรงผม ทรงใหม่ของพี่ที่ไปทำมาเพื่อน้อง
กับข้าวที่เคยเป็นของสุดโปรดของน้อง น้องก็ใช้เวลาแค่ 2 นาทีสวาปามจนหมดโดยไม่ปริปากชมซักคำ
หรือแม้แต่กางเกงนอนผ้าไหม ตัวใหม่ของพี่น้องก็ไม่ใยดีชายตามอง กลับโดดขึ้นเตียงนอนหลับเป็นตายทันทีหลังจากดูละครน้ำเน่าจบ น้องไม่เคยเอ่ยปากบอกรักพี่อีกเลย หรือกระทั่งกิจกรรมแสนสนุกที่เราเคยทำ ก็ไม่เคยมีอย่างกับว่าเราไม่ได้เป็นสามีภรรยากันซะอย่างงั้น ดังนั้นไม่ว่าจะเป็นเพราะ น้องมีคนใหม่ หรือหมดรักพี่แล้ว พี่ก็จะลาขาดจากน้องตลอดไป

ถึงพี่สมชาย อดีตสามี
นี่เป็นข่าวดีที่สุดในชีวิตของน้องที่เคยได้รับเมื่อได้จดหมายจากพี่สมชาย
จริงอยู่ที่เราแต่งงานกันมา 7 ปีแม้ว่า คำว่า"สามีที่ดี" จะไกลจากความจริงสำหรับพี่สมชายก็ตาม
น้องใช้เวลาดูละครน้ำเน่า เพราะมันช่วยให้คลายเครียดจากอาการขี้บ่น จู้จี้จุกจิกของพี่สมชาย
แต่น่าเสียดายที่มันไม่ได้ผลซักเท่าไร ที่จริง น้องสังเกตเห็นทรงผม ทรงใหม่ของพี่เมื่ออาทิตย์ก่อน
แต่ความคิดแวปแรกที่เกิดขึ้นเมื่อน้องเห็นพี่ คือ "นี่มันทรงอะไรกันผะ" "ดูอย่างกับ ตุ๊ด เอเอฟ 4 เลย"
เพราะคุณแม่ของน้องสอนมาดี ว่าถ้าพูดอะไรออกมาแล้วมันทำให้คนเขาเสียใจ
อย่าพูดดีกว่า น้องจึงไม่พูดอะไรออกมาซักคำ และเมื่อพี่สมชายทำอาหารสุดโปรดของน้อง น้องเกรงว่า พี่จะสับสนว่า มันจะเป็นของโปรดของ น้องไขศรี (น้องสาว) หรือของน้องหญิงกันแน่ เพราะน้องเลิกทานเครื่องในมาเกือบ 7 ปีแล้ว พูดถึง กางเกงนอนผ้าไหมตัวใหม่ของพี่สมชาย น้องไม่อยากมองมัน เพราะป้ายราคา 1490 บาท มันยังติดอยู่ที่กางเกงอยู่เลย และน้องได้แต่ภาวนาว่า มันเป็นเรื่องบังเอิญที่ ไขศรี (น้องสาว)มายืมเงิน 1500 บาทจากน้องในเช้าวันเดียวกัน และแม้ว่าจะเป็นเรื่องจริง น้องก็ยังคิดว่า เราน่าจะคุยกันเพื่อแก้ปัญหาเหล่านี้ได้จนไม่กี่วันถัดมา น้องถูกล็อตเตอรี่ รางวัลที่ 1 ชุดใหญ่ยกแผง น้องจึงลาออกจากงานและไปซื้อแพคเกจ เที่ยวรอบโลก 2 ที่กะจะชวนพี่สมชายไปเที่ยวด้วยกันก่อนกลับมาเสวยสุขต่อหลังจบการเดินทางท่องเที่ยว
แต่เมื่อน้องกลับมาถึงบ้านและพบกับจดหมายของพี่ น้องจึงเข้าใจว่า ทุกอย่างเกิดขึ้นเพราะชะตากำหนดให้เป็นไป น้องได้แต่หวังว่า พี่จะพบกับชีวิตอย่างที่พี่อยากมีดังหวัง อ้อ ทนายของน้องบอกน้องว่า จดหมายฉบับที่พี่สมชายเขียน สามารถใช้เป็นหลักฐานในการฟ้องหย่า และใช้เป็นเอกสารยืนยัน การไม่ต้องแบ่งสมบัติที่มีหลังแต่งได้ ดังนั้น ขอให้พี่โชคดีค่ะ จาก น้องหญิง อดีตภรรยาของพี่สมชาย ซึ่งขณะนี้รวย โ...ค.. ต..ร... และ หลุดพ้นนรกซะที

ป.ล. น้องไม่รู้ว่าเคย บอกพี่สมชายหรือเปล่าว่า น้องของ น้องหญิง "ไขศรี"
มีชื่อเดิมว่า "ไอ้ไข่" แต่น้องหวังว่า มันคงไม่เป็นปัญหากับพี่สมชายมั้งคะ

I learn today about how to live better in Thai society. Thanks to my boss. It is the best present for my Chinese New Year so I'd like to take this opportunity to remind myself (not to teach anyone na krub) by writing in my blog so I can always come back to read it.

Always respect others and be mindful about how you express your views and don't over react and make other people shut away from you.

Always be kind and helpful to those who are in the same or lower status and always aware of the appropriate time and place and the status of people around you regardless of whether you know them personally or not.

Don't say anything outside of your parameter or realm of responsibility.

Be courteous, humble and don't act like you know everything or your idea is the best.

Facial expression, body language, tone of voice and how much you talk will determine who much people actually listen to you. Don't talk too much and don't get TOO excited about your own ideas.

This should help you get less gossips, live life easier, not get looked at as a smart ass.

Eventually, you will be pleasant to others, giving you better opportunities in life.
